Information
The Liverpool Daffodil Walk has been postponed
We have had to take the difficult decision to postpone the upcoming Liverpool Daffodil Walk (29 March).
Unfortunately, with the storms over the last few weeks and now concerns around COVID-19 (coronavirus), we believe it's better to postpone the walk until later in the year when we can deliver a brilliant event for our supporters.
Please see below for more information. If you have any further questions please contact us on events@mariecurie.org.uk or 0800 716 146.

Postponement questions and answers
When will the walk be rearranged for?
We don’t have a new date confirmed but we’re currently looking at options in the Autumn. We’ll be in touch soon and will update this page as soon as we can.
Will this affect the hospice?
As we plan to find a new date for the walk, we still hope that together we’ll raise lots of vital funds for the Liverpool Hospice.
What happens to my registration fee?
As we plan to rearrange the walk, your registration fee will be valid for the new date. If you can’t make the new date, we will of course be happy to refund your payment.
What will happen to my fundraising so far?
As we plan to rearrange the walk, anything you have raised so for will count towards your total fundraising for the new date too. Fundraising efforts of local people taking part in events such as Liverpool Daffodil Walk are vital to running our services, including the Liverpool Hospice. Every £20 you raise could pay for one hour of nursing care in your local area.
If you cannot make the new date and would like to discuss refunding donations to people who have sponsored you, please contact events@mariecurie.org.uk or call 0800 716 146 for more information about this process.
Can I take part in something else instead?
Of course you can! We know you may be taking part in memory of a loved one, and we have lots of events across the country if you still want to take on a challenge. You can find out more on our events page.
You might like to try out our Step in to Spring challenge, where you pledge to walk 10,000 steps a day in March. You can start your month of Steps at any point during March, or even take on the challenge on the original Daffodil Walk weekend instead. The 4km walk is approximately 5,000 steps and the 8km walk would be around 10,000 steps.
If you’d like any support finding an alternative event or with your fundraising, please contact us by emailing events@mariecurie.org.uk or calling 0800 716 146.
Can I still do the walk route myself?
Yes you can but we’d love you to join us when we announce a new date instead! It’ll be a fantastic atmosphere, and we’ll have food trucks, entertainment and music so it’ll be a great day out. We can’t wait to meet all our Daffodil Walkers soon!
If I do my own walk will I still get a T-shirt and medal?
Yes! If you let us know, we can send you a T-shirt to walk in. Once you’ve completed your walk, let us know and we can arrange to send you a medal to show off to your friends and family.
How we support you
How the money you raise helps
£180 pays for someone with a terminal illness to attend the day therapy unit at the hospice.
£400 pays for someone to stay in a Marie Curie Hospice for 24 hours, so that they can receive the hands-on care they need in their final days.
£1,250 pays for a portable oxygen system that will relieve distressing symptoms, so a person doesn’t have to be confined to bed.
