Jacqui, a retired social worker, was cared for in the Marie Curie Hospice, Bradford and died in December 2023. Her daughters Kelly and Emma are supporting the Great Daffodil Appeal 2025.
"When Mum went into hospice, we were so anxious. But it became such a comfort to see just how much the hospice staff knew what they were doing. She was comfortable and content, and that mattered more than anything to us," Emma says.
"It took that pressure off us as a family, and it had a big impact on Mum too. She didn't want us feeling anxious and scared."

Your fundraising helps Marie Curie provide expert hands-on care in people's homes and in our hospices across the UK. It also helps us provide support over the phone, and push for a better end of life for all by campaigning and sharing research to change the system.
Every pound you raise directly contributes to ensuring that more people can receive the care they need at the most difficult times. Your fundraising will help us be there for more people, to the very end.

The easiest place to start is by setting up a JustGiving page and setting a target amount you aim to raise. Friends and family can donate directly to the page, and you can share it on social media and via WhatsApp to encourage others to donate too.
You can also personalise your page to share why you're fundraising – read some tips on how to make the most of your fundraising page.
If you're collecting donations in cash, you will have received a donation and sponsorship form in your pack. If you've misplaced your pack or want to get fundraising right away, you can also download and print a sponsorship form here. Gift Aid can also be added to donations made on this form.
