By sharing your thoughts, experiences and opinions with us, you can help ensure everyone in Scotland has the right to the palliative care they need.

Too many people die in Scotland without the palliative care and support they need at the end of life.

By 2040 up to 10,000 more people will need palliative and end of life care each year. This growing demand comes as the cost of living with a terminal illness is increasing and the costs of delivering palliative care are also rising rapidly. We need urgent action.
Marie Curie Scotland is working with MSPs from across the Scottish Parliament towards changing the law so that every Scottish resident has a right to the palliative care they need. But we need your help.

Will you join our movement for change?

We're asking you to take part in a consultation to help shape the proposal to change the law and create a right to palliative care. It's a chance to share your stories, your reflections, your insights and your expertise. Your story will add further meaning and power to our campaigning.

Respond to the consultation and help shape the future of palliative care.

The level of care received by those with life limiting conditions currently depends where you live in the country. This bill will ensure equitable access to palliative care for people of all ages living with terminal illnesses.
Miles Briggs MSP

Palliative care is something that we will all receive, or experience, either directly or indirectly, at some point in our lives, so it is essential that the universal right to receive it is enshrined into law.
Rhoda Grant MSP

Support the right to palliative care in Scotland

Do you agree that everyone in Scotland should have a right to the palliative and end of life care that they need? Add your name to the petition. Together we can show the Scottish Government that this is an issue they can't ignore.

Making the right to palliative care explicit could be a powerful public policy driver to ensuring that our health and social care sector respond to the clear pressure which is increasingly being put on palliative care services as demand continues to steadily grow.
Bob Doris MSP, Convenor of the Scottish Parliament Cross Party Group on Palliative Care
