Clothing and Equipment
Luggage
- Daypack or small rucksack - 25-30 litre capacity with an effective waist harness and comfortable shoulder straps (large enough to carry extra clothing i.e. waterproofs, lunch and snack food, water bottles, sun cream, small medical kit and camera)
- Waterproof cover for rucksack if not included
- Medium sized soft rucksack, holdall or suitcase for main luggage
- Carrier bags/bin bags - useful for keeping dirty washing or wet clothing separate
Equipment
- Thin sleeping bag for inside the cabin
- Thermos flask - enough to carry a litre e.g. Sigg Thermo bottle
- Head torch or pocket torch with spare batteries
- Camera (optional) - memory cards and charger/spare batteries
- Money belt (optional)
- Padlocks (optional - useful for securing luggage)
- Travel pillow (optional)
Clothing
- Footwear for inside cabin - crocs/trainers
- Pair of very warm outdoor boots e.g. Sorel winter boots
- 4/5 pairs of thermal socks to last the duration and inner socks if you use there - merino wool are particularly good
- 2 x insulated waterproof winter trousers e.g. ski trousers
- Fleece
- Waterproof jacket or ski jacket
- Down jacket
- 2 complete sets of thermals (top and bottom)
- 4 x breathable tops - e.g. merino wool
- Pair of warm gloves e.g. ski gloves with silk liner or down mittens
- Pair of leather gloves for cutting/handling pots etc.
- Fleece or woolly hat
- Balaclava
- Ski goggles - optional
- Sunglasses with UV protection
Survival Phase
- Whistle
- Knife/fork/spoon and plastic mug
- 3 days' worth of rations for the survival phase e.g. Wayfayrer, extreme adventure food. For example, take a look at the camping food on Cotswold Outdoors website.
- Fire lighting kit e.g. fire steel, matches
- Pocket rocket burner - optional
- Pocket knife and folding saw - optional
Personal Medical Kit
- High factor sun cream (at least 30SPF) and lip salve
- Antibacterial hand gel
- Wet wipes
- Compeed blister plasters
- Antiseptic cream
- Plasters
- Lint wound dressing
- Crepe bandage and safety pins
- Painkillers
- Imodium/diareze
- Tweezers
- Scissors
- Deep heat ointment
- Rehydration tablets /sachets e.g. Dioralyte
- Ankle/Knee support if you need them
Miscellaneous
- Earplugs (in case of snorers!)
- Hand warmers - optional
- Swimwear for the hot tub/sauna on the final day
- Full driving licence for snowmobile
- Isotonic drink powder or tablets
- Energy bars/tablets/chocolate/favourite snacks!
- Pillow case
- If you wear contact lenses it is advisable to also bring your glasses. Remember to pack contact lens solution and prescription sunglasses if you have them.
We recommend you also print a photocopy of your insurance and passport.
