Commissioning in Scotland
In Scotland, we provide clinical services on a commissioned basis. This means we can work with Health and Social Care Partnerships across Scotland, determining which of our services best suit which areas.

How our services support national health strategy in Scotland
We’re proud that people who are supported by our hospice care at home services are three times less likely to need unplanned hospital care and twice as likely to die at home.
In this way, we are not only helping meet local need but also supporting the Scottish government’s Strategic Framework for Action on Palliative and End of Life Care .
How we provide services in Scotland
Marie Curie hospice care at home services span both planned care and rapid response taking budgets into account.
You can commission our services as blocks of nursing with guaranteed availability, set delivery hours or pre-agreed funding allocations.
Alternatively, commissioners can pay for our services based on specific nursing input. With this variable option, we plan resourcing around anticipated need.
