Welcome to the West Midlands hospice

We help people with an illness they’re likely to die from, and the people close to them, receive specialist care and support – for free. This includes Alzheimer’s (and other forms of dementia), heart, liver or kidney and lung disease, motor neurone disease, Parkinson’s and advanced cancer. Whatever your illness, whoever you are, we’re with you to the end.

How does it work?

To make sure you get the right help, we start by listening to you. What matters most to you matters most to us. Our support may include:

In-patient stay

If you need specialist round-the-clock care, you can stay in our hospice as an in-patient. That might be until your symptoms have been stabilised, or you might stay for your final days.

Outpatient care

You can visit our hospice to get regular, personalised care targeted to your needs – whether you’ve just been diagnosed, are approaching the end of life, or are close to someone who is.

Wellbeing support

From pet therapy to reiki, we offer a wide range of activities in the hospice to help you live the best life possible, for as long as you can.

Home visit

You can arrange home visits to get the same expert care as you would in a hospice, without leaving the house. Our specialist team will assess your needs, give support and help you plan for the future.

How do I get care at this hospice?

If you or someone close to you is living with a terminal illness and would like to support from Marie Curie Hospice, West Midlands, please contact the healthcare professional in charge of your or your loved one's care. This might be your community palliative care team, GP, hospital consultant or district nurse.

Why can’t I refer myself?
We work in partnership with the NHS and our hospices form just one part of your overall care. To make sure all the different types of care and support you receive are working well together, it’s helpful for them to be co-ordinated through the healthcare professional with overall responsibility for your care.

Information for healthcare professionals

Find out more about the Marie Curie Hospice, West Midlands

It was our first experience of a hospice. You automatically think they would be sad places and there wouldn’t be any laughter, but we found it completely the opposite. The room was pleasant and comfortable.
You could feel that the surroundings had been thought about – it’s not so clinical. There’s someone there at every turn for literally anything that Mum needed, anything that we needed. It’s all there in the one place.
Lynda, whose mother Sheila was cared for at the Marie Curie Hospice, West Midlands.
