Wales Bereavement Information and Support Service (BISS)
Marie Curie are here to provide bereavement support for anyone in Wales who is experiencing grief following the death of someone as a result of a terminal illness.
Call us free on 0800 090 2309* or book a call below.
If you need support following a bereavement, we're here for you. Whether your bereavement was expected, happened recently or was some time ago, we can help. We can also support you before your loved one dies.
How we can help
- Bereavement counselling: We offer bereavement counselling across Wales with a qualified counsellor. We can provide counselling support by telephone, virtually or face-to-face (subject to location).
- Telephone Bereavement Support: Our free service offers you up to six weekly sessions with one of our volunteers over the phone. You'll always talk to the same person, and each session lasts up to 45 minutes. We're not a counselling service, but we'll match you with a specially trained volunteer who'll provide a safe space where you can talk openly about your loss and how you're feeling.
- Group support: You may find meeting other bereaved people in a support group setting helps you cope with your feelings. We're working to set up bereavement groups in communities across Wales, so that you can connect with others who've experienced the death of someone close to them.
