About our information

We work with people affected by terminal illness and subject matter experts to write our information.

What we write

We write information about everything to do with terminal illness, dying, death and bereavement. And we provide it in different formats:
We’re always open to feedback. If you have any comments about our information that you’d like to share with us, email review@mariecurie.org.uk.

How we write

We work with people with lived experience of terminal illness – whether they have a diagnosis or are a carer, family member or friend – at every step. They tell us what we should be writing about, what works, and what doesn't.
We also work with subject matter experts, like health and social care professionals. They check that our evidence and information is accurate and relevant, as well as telling us what they hear from patients.
If you’d like the list of the evidence used to create any of our information, please emailreview@mariecurie.org.uk.

Want to help us improve?

We're always looking for volunteers to help us improve our information. Our Voices volunteer opportunity is home-based, flexible based on the time you can give, and doesn't need any specific work or academic background. If you have experience of terminal illness or bereavement, we'd love to hear from you.

Why use our information?

We’re proud to be a trusted information creator and hold the PIF TICK accreditation mark.

The PIF TICK is the UK-wide quality mark for health information. It shows that you can trust our information, because it's been been recognised as:

  • evidence-based
  • addressing the needs of our audience
  • accessible.

Every year we get assessed against 10 criteria for trustworthy health information, so you can feel confident we're doing what we say we are.
