Online learning and development for volunteers

Learn and Develop @ Marie Curie is the charity’s free ‘one stop shop’ for online learning and development opportunities, resources and links to other useful websites.

The Volunteer Gateway is a special area within this site crafted specifically to accommodate volunteers with courses and resources to help you gain new skills and build your knowledge.

What's on the Volunteer Gateway?

You will have access to courses such as a Marie Curie Induction, Moving and handling, Data Protection and Risk Assessment (coming soon).

Helpful resources include communication skills, loss and bereavement resources and links to websites to support you with using computers.

There is also an online filing cabinet with a selection of relevant Marie Curie policies, expense forms, drivers declaration forms, volunteer registration forms and more.

Set up your username and password

1. Visit learnanddevelop.mariecurie.org.uk  

2. Click on the 'Request New Account' button.

3. Fill in all fields on the form and click 'Request New Account'.

4. You will receive an email which contains a confirmation web link.

5. You must click on this weblink to confirm your account. This should be done within 7 days of your account being set up otherwise it will be deleted.

I've already registered - what now?

1. Visit learnanddevelop.mariecurie.org.uk  

2. Enter your existing username and password, then click 'Login'.

3. Once you've logged in, you will have access to the Volunteer Gateway.

I've forgotten my password - help!

1. Click on 'Forgotten your username or password?' on the login page.

2. Carefully follow the instructions.

3. Your login details will be sent by email.

What if I need more help?

Under instructions for new users on the login page, you'll see an orange box labelled 'Help & Support.'

Click on this button to enter our Help and Support area.

This area to designed to quickly offer answers to the most common problems. answers to frequently asked questions, a printable quick start guide (desk aid), a site overview, and ways to get further help.

Please note: our email Help and Support facility is only available Monday–Friday between 9.30am–4.30pm. It is not available at weekends, evenings or on bank holidays.

Please also be aware that the Learn and Develop team are not responsible for resolving technical queries relating to your personal computer or internet service and you may need to seek advice from external sources such as your Internet Service Provider.
