Your role as a Marie Curie Speaker

Marie Curie Speakers play a vital role in spreading the word about the work of our charity in local communities across the UK. You're helping to raise awareness of our services among people who might not know who we are, inspiring them to get involved and support us.

Your impact as a Speaker

Thank you so much for volunteering as a Marie Curie Speaker.

Most of us have experienced first-hand how hearing directly from someone on something they care deeply about has a powerful and lasting impact.

As a Marie Curie Speaker, you're helping to build a picture in peoples' minds of how our charity improves lives: on a personal level, locally and nationally.

We've put together some training to help you to feel fully prepared in your role. Take a look.

Working alongside your Community Fundraiser

As a Speaker, you support your local Community Fundraiser to reach people which they might not be able to visit in person as often as they'd like to.

They may pass on the occasional speaking opportunity, but it's up to you to reach out to local businesses, communities and groups to find opportunties. Find out more about how to find and book your talks.

Useful resources

We're put together some helpful materials to support you in planning and delivering your talk, including useful tools like scripts, presentations and videos, and real stories. There's also guidance on what to do once you're finished.

More help and support

Your Community Fundraiser will always be your main point of contact and support, so please ask them if you need anything.
